The old yoga mat is worn out. You are slowly choosing a new one, but you don't know what the old one is? You don't necessarily have to throw it away. Get inspired in today's article for ways to further use it.

Who will be happy?

If the yoga mat doesn't really serve you anymore, think about it - won't someone around you use it? Here are some tips for who you can make happy with the old mat or how to give it another chance:

1. Extra support below the knees

Have you already managed to buy a new yoga mat, but it is quite thin? If you feel knee pain during exercise, create a protective layer from the old yoga mat on which you place a new mat. You will get an efficient and compact tool for free.

2. Bed for animals from shelters

Do you have an animal shelter in the area? Call if they don't use a yoga mat for dogs, for example. The new crib will please them.

3. The gift of a society supporting the socially disadvantaged

If your old mat is still in good condition, donate it to one of the social associations or charities. It will be useful, for example, for single mothers.

4. A gift for a yoga novice

As another method of use, if the pad is in good condition, donation to a novice is offered. Are any of your friends or family starting to train more actively? The yoga mat will please you and add extra motivation to difficult beginnings.

5. Use for camping

How about using a mat for an evening sitting by the campfire? You can sit on it for at least two and you won't get a cold. But be careful - you better stay away from the fire!

6. Car heat blocker

Hot dashboard and steering wheel that can hardly be touched. None of us like that. Using a yoga mat as a blocker of unwanted heat inside the car? Great!

7. Mouse pad

You won't use the whole area of yoga, but it's still better than throwing the whole thing away. Try asking friends or family, for example, they will also appreciate the mouse pad.

8. Support for artists

Fine artists sometimes work in more tangled positions than yogis themselves. If you don't have a favorite artist you'd like to offer a pad to, try searching the internet. Maybe he gives you a stylish picture in return.

9. Use in the children's room

A cleaned older pad will serve the youngest perfectly. Add a few toys or children's books and you have a great play area for children.

10. Child insurance

Measure the corners, cut the desired piece, glue and that's it! No more worries about injuries in the kitchen.

11. Pillow for dogs in a crate

Provide greater comfort when transporting pets? Definitely yes for us!

12. Picnics

The blanket is sometimes uncomfortable, especially on uneven terrain. The yoga mat guarantees a more comfortable place to sit in the park, in the meadow… anywhere.

13. Boards for projects and planning

Are you a passionate organizer, do you love planning of all kinds and do you leave your tickets where you can? The washed and dried yoga mat will serve as a message board - whether for yourself, a roommate or a partner.

14. Under the flower pots

Who among us has never experienced a wet windowsill, a wall and everything around. If you also occasionally give the flowers more moisture than they really need - cut the squares from the mat in proportion to the size of the pots.

If not used: Recycle

Recycle old yoga mats for which you will find no use. Sometimes recycling can be quite a hassle, as PVC mats cannot be recycled. When choosing a new mat, try to choose from more environmentally friendly materials. In Korkie, we offer natural and recyclable rubber and cork pads.

We believe that these tips will help you decide what to do with the old pad. Did we forget to mention something? Write to us under this article and share it with others!
